Known to fans as Young Lace’s bike, POWER OUTAGE is the award-winning custom motorcycle owned by Jermaine Carlos Diaz, also known as Young Lace. Rebuilt by Curly’s Inc. in Burns, Indiana, it earned Best Custom Motorcycle at Rick Ross’s Promise Land Car & Bike Show on May 21, 2022. Some motorcycles make an impression before they ever move. POWER OUTAGE became something more: a second chance at a personal vision, rebuilt into an award-winning custom machine.

The build that had to be done again

The name POWER OUTAGE came from the shop that first worked on Young Lace’s motorcycle. That original build fell short of his expectations. Rather than accept it, he chose to have the bike redone and sent it to Curly’s Inc. in Burns, Indiana, where the final build took shape.

What emerged was more than a motorcycle reconstructed to show standards. It was a design statement shaped by the things Jermaine Carlos Diaz, known as Young Lace, loves most: exceptional automobiles, meticulous details, and the ability to make something unmistakably his own.

A signature hidden in the sunlight

The pearl-white bodywork and striking rose-gold components are impossible to miss. Yet some of POWER OUTAGE’s most personal features are deliberately subtle. Young Lace’s YL initials and MTB logo appear throughout the pearl paint, revealing themselves most clearly as sunlight catches the surface.

The double-R emblem is a tribute to Young Lace’s appreciation for Rolls-Royce, while additional luxury-inspired accents, expansive custom audio, and intricate mechanical finishing turn the motorcycle into a rolling portrait of its owner’s tastes.

The road to Rick Ross’s show

After the rebuild, Young Lace says POWER OUTAGE won major custom motorcycle shows across the country. Its most documented victory came on May 21, 2022, when the motorcycle earned Best Custom Motorcycle at Rick Ross’s Promise Land Car & Bike Show in Fayetteville, Georgia. The recognition was the culmination of a journey that began with disappointment and finished with a show-winning custom build.

More than a trophy

POWER OUTAGE is not simply a collection of polished parts. It carries the history of a restart, the skill of its final builders at Curly’s Inc., and the owner’s personal point of view down to the patterns that only appear in the right light. The details explain the bike. The decision to redo it explains its story.
