Before the headlines, before the public records, and before the name Young Lace, there was a boy growing up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, learning about the world through circumstances far beyond his years.
At fourteen, Jermaine Carlos Diaz was drawn into events that would bring him into the federal justice system while he was still a child. His prosecution began in juvenile proceedings; the experience of being prosecuted, sentenced, and sent away at such a young age would shape the years that followed. His life cannot be understood from a headline or a search result alone.
His story also includes family, difficult choices, consequences, change, and the long work of building a future. Over time, fatherhood became central to that journey. Alongside raising his son, Diaz has pursued entrepreneurship and creative projects under both his own name and Young Lace.
This site is a place to understand the person beyond any single chapter: a father, a storyteller, and a creator still defining what his legacy will be.
A fuller first-person account is being developed in the memoir The Making of Young Lace. The experiences described here reflect Diaz’s personal perspective; official case records remain separate from this biography.
